A useful maintenance programme starts with the specific robot and its application. Duty cycle, environment, payload and operating conditions matter. A light assembly robot in a clean room and a mobile platform in a busy warehouse may need very different inspection plans. There is no universal maintenance interval suitable for every machine.

Use the current manufacturer documentation and qualified personnel to define responsibilities. Keep a dated record of observations, completed work and any changes in behaviour. Condition trends can help prioritise inspection, but they do not replace required checks. Robot Hospital is developing a lifecycle model that connects these records with future diagnostics and repair planning.
